Londonderry's picturesque country setting is located in historic Easton, Maryland, where you will find a wealth of attractions and activities such as art galleries, antique shops and diverse cultural events. It's just a short drive to the quaint villages of Oxford and St. Michaels, renowned sailing, fine restaurants, museums and exceptional boutique shopping.

Founded in 1989, Londonderry was the first cooperative independent living retirement community on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Growing in size from an original 15 individual cottages and 17 residents, this not-for-profit community is now home to 80 cottages, 26 apartments and 130 residents.

Located on the original tract of land granted in 1667 to citizens from Ireland seeking independence and the freedom of choice, Londonderry remains dedicated to those ideals today.

Entrance Criteria
Residents moving into a cottage or apartment at Londonderry must meet the following criteria:
  • Be 62 years of age or over at the time application is made; however in the case of joint ownership, only one person needs to be age 62
  • Demonstrates financial capability to meet monthly needs; and
  • Be capable of independent living
